Sessions

Clara Barton Summer Camp will run from Monday, June 22 through Friday, August 14, 2026. There will be four 2-week sessions as follows:
Session 1: Pirate Adventures at Sea; June 22- July 2, 2026 (closed 7/3 for Independence Day)
Campers will set sail on the high seas, hunting for treasure, and shipwrecks. They’ll design and build pirate ships using blocks, cardboard and whatever else floats their boats, along with creating original pirate costumes and flags. No pirate theme would be complete without a chance to hone balancing skills by walking the plank and enjoying swashbuckling foam party. You do not want to miss Talk Like a Pirate Day !
Session 2: Below the Equator; July 6-17, 2026
Join us on a whirlwind tour through South America! Campers will take flight below the equator to explore some of its lovely countries such as Argentina, Brazil and Ecuador. They will learn about the geography, customs, dress, popular sports and animals in the southern hemisphere. We’ll even prepare and sample some of the local cuisine, as we experience winter in July! Echoes of Nature will visit with animals from the region.
Session 3: “Artround” the World; July 20-31, 2026
From MOMA to the Louvre, the Tate to the Smithsonian, and the Met to the Sydney Opera House, we will introduce children to folk art from various parts of the world. Campers will create regionally inspired masterpieces such as Indian Rangoli using colors, textures, patterns, music and movement, including Indian Rangoli art, and Ghanian Kente weaving. Children will also participate in a workshop on eastern dance with a brief performance to follow.
Session 4: Robotics and Loose Parts; August 3- August 14*, 2026
Campers will participate in indoor and outdoor hands-on learning and crafting using magna-tiles, Legos, gum drops, marshmallows, toothpicks, loose parts and a host of other materials. Curious minds will merge science and technology with artistic expression, as they collaborate with fellow campers to exchange ideas and come up with creative solutions to building catapults, cantilevers, and a classroom robot. Families are invited to the Puffin, Cardinal and Eagle Science Fair on the last afternoon, where the children will showcase their designs.
*Camp closes at 12:30 pm on Friday, August 14
