The Clara Barton Center for children provides quality educational
and childcare programs for children ages 2 to 5. Clara Barton
provides a warm, friendly, and supportive environment where
children can grow and develop at their own pace. Our goals
are to nurture self-esteem, foster social, cognitive, and
physical development, and lay the groundwork for a life-long
love of learning.
Clara Baron Center for Children is a private, non-profit organization,
which has served families in our area since 1975. Governed
by a Board of Directors composed of parents, there is a strong
tradition of parent participation at Clara Barton. Children
are admitted regardless of race, religion, ethnic background,
or gender, and we encourage diversity among our student body
The Clara Barton Center for Children has been accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) since the spring of 2010 for fully meeting the standards of quality as outlined in the MSDE Standards for Implementing Quality Early Childhood Programs.
We are proud that the Clara Barton Center for Children has been awarded 5 checks, the highest ranking in the Maryland EXCELS program! Maryland EXCELS awards ratings to child care providers and programs that meet increasingly higher standards of quality in key areas. Maryland EXCELS is a voluntary program designed to recognize early care and school age education programs that provide quality care, encourage providers to increase the level of quality provided in their programs, and to provide parents with information and choices about quality child care.
The Clara Barton Center for Children offers flexible programs
designed to meet the variety of needs of the children and
families in our community. The Clara Barton Center for Children
offers part-time and full-time programs for the school year
(September – mid-June). We also offer a Summer Camp
program (mid-June – mid-August) that complements the
school year. A separate registration is required for Summer
Camp, beginning in February of each year.
